| The use of dental jewellery, the decoration of teeth is not at all a recent custom; we have information about it from the days of old: teeth decorated with precious stones were found among others in Egyptian tombs, which were most probably made for aesthetic purposes, signifying wealth and showing one’s social status, and making appearance individual and unique. In recent times, especially the young people have rediscovered the decoration of the teeth, and creating a new fashion has begun to wear the most different varieties of tooth jewels. A passing whim or an aesthetic dental trend becoming classic? Time will give the answer to this question, but one thing is for certain, the shining little tooth jewel is becoming ever more popular among young people generally worn on the upper little incisors or the eye-teeth. While the placement of the tooth jewel could take even half an hour a few years ago and in the course of the procedure a caustic gel was also used to clean the dental enamel, today this risk-free dental procedure has been significantly shortened and simplified. The procedure can be carried out only by a dentist – so not try it at home – who fixes the selected dental jewel on the cleaned tooth with a special adhesive material that is not harmful to health. The treatment, which lasts only approximately 3-5 minutes, does not damage the enamel in any way. The procedure does not require any special dental preparation, drilling and is completely painless, however, a tooth whitening procedure is recommended beforehand, since the shining little tooth jewel looks really good only on faultless, snow white teeth. Once the wearer has gone weary of the tooth jewel, they can have it removed or changed any time. The tooth jewel does not hinder eating, drinking, tooth brushing, and gives a decorative smile to the wearer. | |
